What is a float service, and how does it differ from traditional transportation methods? 

A Float Service or Float Transportation is about moving large-scale, oversized, and heavy equipment and machinery. These services are the go-to choice when moving large of heavy equipment quickly and safely. Instead of regular trucks or trailers, they use special trailers called float trailers.

What types of equipment can be transported using your float services?

  • Industrial equipment (e.g., generators, compressors, cnc)

  • Agricultural equipment (e.g., tractors)

  • Building materials (e.g., steel beams, precast, bricks)

  • Heavy machinery (e.g., forklifts, bulldozers, telehandlers)

  • Construction Equipment (e,g., scaffolding)

  • Container up to 30 feet

How far in advance should float services be booked for transportation projects?

To make sure you get an available spot and everything goes well for your transportation projects, we recommend booking out float services as early as possible. Contact us in advance during your project planning process to discuss your needs and secure you spot in our schedule.

This is largely because you lead time can change depending on the size of equipment, the distance you'll cover, and any permits needed.

How soon can you pick up our machinery or equipment to be moved?

To fulfill your move as quickly as possible, once we have discussed your requirements, we can provide you with a timeframe. This can sometimes be accomplished on the same day.

What is the maximum that can be towed?

Currently our max weight capacity is 38,000lbs

Max height: 11'

Max length: 30' - 35' depending on what it is

Yes, we provide various insurance coverage alternatives to protect your equipment during transportation using Laramie Float Services. These cover all damages or losses that may occur during transit.
